About Elaine Marsen
Equine Canada Certified Instructor
Stepping Stones Equine Canada Certified Instructor

Elaine has owned, ridden, and trained horses for over 40 years.  She was an active member of the local 4-H Horse Club from age 9 to 18.  In her younger years, she had success competing in various disciplines such as English and Western Equitation and Pleasure, Trail Class, Showmanship, Halter, and Jumping.

After high school, Elaine attended Olds College in Alberta where she earned an Equine Studies Certificate.  She then gained experience working at various horse farms.  She also assisted with 4-H Horse clubs, giving lessons and judging shows.  Her experience includes horse care, riding, breeding, and training.

Upon raising a family, Elaine’s focus switched to earning her 3rd level Accounting CMA designation.  Her career moved to Accounting for 20 years.  During this time horses were a much needed hobby.  Elaine taught her own kids about horses and riding, and also taught family friends and nieces and nephews.

In 2014, Elaine returned to focusing on her passion - the horses! Elaine completed her requirements and evaluation to earn her Instructor Certification with Equine Canada.  She then operated her Beginner Lesson Program as 'Stepping Stones Riding and Horsemanship' for 5 years.  Elaine has now stepped back from lessons to have more time for family life, and to have time to support her daughter's Equine Program.
